Route:Take one of the following water buses (ticket fare 7,50 EUR):

  • Line 2 from the Ferrovia stop (Scalzi B landing stage);
  • Line 2 (S. Chiara E landing stage) or Line 6 (Parisi C landing stage) from the Piazzale Roma stop;
  • Line 2 from the Tronchetto stop (Tronchetto DX landing stage);

    • then get off at the San Basilio stop. Turn right into Fondamenta Zattere and keep going until you reach the library entrance (just before the bridge). Interactive map




    Venice can be reached by car, by train or by air.

    By car and by train.

    You can park your car directly in predisposed pay-gareges at Piazzale Roma, the only point reached by car in Venice, or the island of Tronchetto connected to Venice by a funicular called People Mover 3 mins far from Piazzale Roma. The main train station in Venice is Stazione F.S. Venezia S. Lucia, on the Grand Canal in the northwest corner of the city. Please note that some trains do not terminate at S. Lucia, stopping only at Venezia-Mestre station on the mainland. However, there are frequent connections to Venezia S. Lucia leaving from platform n° 1.


    By plane.

    Getting to Venice by plane is very convenient, 2 are the nearest airports, in Tessera Marco Polo or Treviso Antonio Canova.

  • From Venice Marco Polo International Airport - VCE : there are several services that run from the airport to Venice city centre. The easiest way to reach Venice is catching a bus leaving from the entrance of the departure hall. There are two companies: ATVO (ticket fare 7,50 EUR one-way; 13 EUR round trip) or ACTV line n. 5 (ticket fare 11 EUR round trip). Buses leave every 20 minutes. There is only one bus/car terminal in Venice: Piazzale Roma. ACTV tickets can be purchased in advance at veneziaunica

  • From Treviso Airport - TSF: there is only one bus service, ATVO, that runs every hour (ticket fare 7 EUR one-way; round trip 13 EUR). Tickets can be purchased at the automatic ATVO ticket machine in the arrivals baggage hall. Please note that the trip will take you at least 1 hour.


    • Taxi

    From Venice Marco Polo International Airport - VCE to Venice Piazzale Roma: 40 EUR. You can buy your taxi ride in advance at radiotaxi

    Water taxis

    Water taxis fares: 100 EUR. Please note that there are several water taxi companies. Some of them offer online ticket purchase, see motoscafivenezia and veneziataxi
